What are the general rules regarding wearing pantyhose with open-toe shoes, dressy sandals? The general rule is pantyhose are not “in style” with open-toe shoes like dressy sandals. If your legs don’t have a nice color use a self tanner if you want to wear sandal style shoes in cold weather. Otherwise wait until summer when your legs are tan to wear them.  That said, women are creating their own style today and some women wear colored tights or stockings with sandals. If you think something is flattering on you and you feel confident wearing the outfit go for it!
