Ways to Look Better
When it comes to our skin maintaining a radiant, youthful looking appearance the most commonly talked about methods have traditionally been a healthy diet, plenty of H2O, proper cleansing and the application of the most up to the minute skin care products. These are a good foundation but there comes a time when a more aggressive approach is required. Luckily we happen to live in time where there are several resources available to the average person, some of which include Botox and Dysport. I have personally tried these methods with outstanding results, but to further explain the benefits of these skin care treatments I spoke at length with Karron L. Power, M.D.,M.P.H. at the Youth Renewal Center of Marin and here is what she had to say.
“Wrinkles form when the skin is repeatedly folded in the same place with certain facial expressions – crow’s feet from squinting, lines between the brows from frowning, and lines across the forehead from excessively raising the brows. Botox and Dysport are medical products that relax the muscles responsible for these lines and wrinkles. These products are best used for prevention and I recommend that treatments start when a fine line is just beginning to etch into makeup and the skin. Treatment will also greatly reduce the appearance of etched lines and wrinkles and will prevent deepening of these lines. With consistent Botox and Dysport treatments (3-4 times per year) the skin beneath a crease can even heal and rebuild with new collagen moving in to fill the wrinkle. The bottom line: start early — but it’s never too late! Frown lines, crow’s feet, and horizontal forehead lines can be prevented or softened quite safely and easily.”
