What should I wear under a mid calf length vest?

What should I wear under a mid calf length vest?  I am tall & thin. The vest is blue, silky, sleeveless, Asian looking, open from waist down to mid calf with slits on the sides & back. Collar is scoop neck with frog closures to the opening at waist. Color of footwear-heels or flats? I’d like to wear it to a day wedding & dinner.

It should be perfect on a tall thin woman and festive for a wedding and dinner.  Pants, slim or straight legged, in a another color that looks good with your midnight blue vest and a coordinating top would look good. Choose light color pants like beige if you are wearing solid color pants. (Dark color pants will make you look taller.) Since your vest has a scoop neck a jewel neckline or turtleneck top would look stylish. Flats or a low heel patent leather shoes and a clutch will go with most colors. The outfit pictured is not as dressy as your outfit but you can get an idea of how stylish a mid-calf vest looks with pants and turtleneck top.
