Vintage Vibe

Fashion certainly has changed throughout the years, and although many looks have retired, there are a lot that have come back from the dead. If you’re someone who loves vintage clothing, or you just want to get started wearing it, then there are some vintage fashion looks that you can actually wear today! These have modern twists to make them fit in with today’s world, but will still give off that vintage vibe when you wear them. So, what are you waiting for? Check out these vintage ideas and you can start wearing cute outfits today!

1.Jackie Kennedy was one of the most fashionable women throughout the 1940’s and 1950’s, and her style is still seen in many places today. It is defined as classic, elegant and feminine, which isn’t always easy to pull off! But, you can make this look work for you if you just pick up a few key pieces and wear them with the right accessories. Start with a navy blue and white polka dot dress, which should have a high neck-line and go down to your knees. Wear this with a yellow skinny belt, navy blue heels and classic Jackie Kennedy sunglasses to finish off the look. If you want to go even further, then wear some matching polka dot gloves, but this is not absolutely necessary.

2. Flapper dresses defined much of the fashion in the 1920’s, and are great for women of all shapes and sizes! They may be revealing, but they also have a lot of extra fabric that allows more coverage around the waist. Wear this dress with a vintage headband, high heels and dark makeup, and you’ll have an outfit that will turn heads. Furthermore, 1920’s costumes (such as these) are very popular for costume parties!

3. Style and Sophistication – If you like the show “Mad Men”, then you’ve probably fallen in love with a lot of the 1960’s dresses that the women on the show wear. These have big, full skirts and defined waists that any woman would like! If you want to pull off this look today, then stick with a solid print and a strong material that really holds your body in. Also make sure the dress hits at just around your knees, so you keep that elegant and retro look. A dress like this is one that you can keep in your wardrobe for many years, because it’s timeless and really won’t go out of style.

4. Jean Jackets – There were a LOT of fashion mistakes in the 1980’s that you probably don’t want to come back (check these out), but jean jackets are not one of them! These might have lost their way for many years, but they are now more in style than ever. While you can go with a solid jean jacket, there are some that have colors on them as well. Don’t be afraid to have fun, because this is a piece that can be worn in a lot of different ways.
