The Sari Every Indian Woman’s Classic

The Sari is Worn Differently in Various Regions of India

A sari is a garment of Asian women that consists of several yards of lightweight cloth draped with one end  forming a skirt and the other a head or shoulder covering. The Indian sari is versatile, comfortable and colorfully expresses elegance and femininity.  The sari is made from a single strip of cloth, approximately six yards, which is then draped over the body in a variety of styles.

The sari is most commonly wrapped around the waist, with one end then draped over the shoulder baring the midriff. The sari is usually worn over a petticoat and then a short-sleeved, scoop-necked blouse known as a choli.
