An evening at the symphony at Carnegie Hall in NYC is very special. I vote for dressing up a little (no denim). A nice pair of pants with a dressy top or a simple top with a statement necklace or earrings would look good. A skirt and top or a dress is another option. Put a LBD (Little Black Dress) to work for you if you can’t decide what to wear. It would probably be a good idea to have a sweater in case Carnegie Hall is air-conditioned and / or it will be cooler when you leave the theater.
The Little Black Dress – The Wardrobe Essential
“The Little Black Dress” has been described as sophisticated, sexy, provocative, chic, elegant, practical, seductive, correct, and ageless. The fashion designer, Christian Dior, said ” You can wear black at any time. You can wear it at any age. You may wear it on almost any occasion. A little black frock is essential to a woman’s wardrobe.” What’s great about “The Little Black Dress” is that it looks fabulous with or without jewelry. You can wear a scarf with it for an interesting effect and it doesn’t show dirt if you take it traveling. In addition black is slimming so you’ll look a few pounds less when wearing it. * The Duchess of Windsor
Jewelry That Makes A Statement
Jewelry that makes a statement sends a message about who you are and what you value, conveys confidence and can make an outfit chic. I think what you notice first about someone is their personal statement. A piece of jewelry that catches your eye when you see a woman qualifies as a “statement” piece of jewelry. Something that stands out from everything else.
