I have a vintage (late 60’s) beige suede coat. It is single -breasted, fitted and an A-line style with a tie belt. It is mid-calf length. I am 5’2″. Should I have it shortened to knee-length or leave it as is?

Your vintage beige suede coat sounds fabulous. A mid-calf length coat on a 5’2″ woman sounds like it might be over powering. In general, shorter hemlines look more stylish on shorter females.To determine the best length for your coat  try to pin it up just below your knees and at your mid knees to see how it looks. Then you can check with your tailor about getting it shortened.
