Jo Ellen says the most rewarding aspect of her job is working with the dancers, a few of whom are her former students, and watching new works being created. Her biggest challenge is time to get everything accomplished. She finds flexibility and being able to make quick decisions a key factor in the success of this job. Jo Ellen thinks it would be difficult to run this business if computers had not been invented. -
Yidan Wong, Chinese Tour Guide
She explained that a tour guide's job is mentally and physically strenuous as it is very competitive in Beijing where there are over 10,000 guides. To be successful as a tour guide, Yidan believes you must be passionate about the job, like people and be flexible. A good command of the English language is a prerequisite so that you can be understood. In addition, you must have good knowledge about the subjects and places you are touring. -
Sarah Schafer, Executive Chef
In her current position, Sarah is in charge of the whole restaurant operation. This involves supervising 15 employees in kitchen and 15 employees working in the front. Sarah's work day begins at 8 or 9 in the am until 9:30 or 10 pm at night. She does just about everything: butchering proteins, prepping any part of any station (like Sauces), ordering, inventorying, talking to purveyors, customers and even answers the phone when needed.

To be effective at FTSE, Carmen says she does a lot of reading to keep abreast of new trends in the market. She is responsible for identifying potential clients and understanding their needs and investment policies. She also discusses investment strategies, statistics and competitive analysis with institutional investors and looks for ways that she can assist them. -
Connie Morris, D.D.S.
To enter the field, Connie obtained a graduate degree in biology from San Francisco State University and then completed the requirements for a DDS degree at The University of the Pacific. The DDS program helps future dentists gain clinical confidence. The curriculum focuses on the health and technical aspects of dentistry. The DDS degree prepares one for setting up a dental practice, working as an associate dentist with someone and / or teaching dentistry. -

Meet Michela O'Conner Abrams, the President and Publisher of Dwell Magazine, which was founded in 2000. She is responsible for delivering a publication that satisfies both the needs of the readers and those who place ads in the magazine. She is especially careful to guard the magazine's image and editorial voice. -
Janet Bishop, Curator of Painting and Sculpture
Janet describes her function as a curator for a collecting institution as being involved in both building the collection (working to identify exceptional works of art to purchase for the collection and reviewing proposed gifts to the museum), and organizing exhibitions (presentations of the permanent collection, in-house special exhibitions, and hosting exhibitions organized by other institutions).

Shannon Donlon, Golf Professional
After finishing college her first job was working at a golf course. Because she was athletic and loved sports, she started hitting balls on the golf range and received coaching from the Golf Professionals on staff. As she enjoyed competition, Shannon began entering local tournaments at the amateur level, playing 20 to 25 events a year. After 5 years as an amateur, she decided to become a Golf Professional. -
Angi Bachmann, Professional Tennis Player
Angelica Bachmann, 27, has been playing tennis since she was 4 years old. She finished high school and at age19 became a professional tennis player. Angi played well and earned enough money to afford her travel expenses. She loves tennis and would like to improve her ranking, from 110 in doubles and 250 in singles, to a top 100 player. Because Angi likes to travel, her career as a professional tennis player is perfect for her. She played in 28 tennis tournaments in 2006.
