Wearing Prints and Patterns
One Patterned or Print Accessory is Usually Enough
When choosing things to wear, we want to accentuate the positive. The first thing to think about when selecting prints or patterned clothing is the proportion or scale. Large prints will call attention to you and your size. Small women don't look good in clothing with large prints or patterns. Large women are already noticeable and will just call attention to their size when wearing large prints or patterns. Scale the prints to your size and you're "good to go."
Clothing with all over patterns and prints sometimes can give you a matronly look. The one exception would be an allover subtle print.
It is smart and stylish to wear a print or patterned top with a solid color skirt or pant.
If you are big busted wear a solid top and print or patterned skirt or slacks and if you are hippy wear a print or patterned top with a solid bottom.
You can add some interest and excitement to a solid color dress or suit with a patterned or print handbag, shoes, scarf, hat or gloves. One patterned or print accessory is usually enough. Never wear more than two.
Remember wherever you wear prints or patterned clothing you will be drawing attention to that area. Take a look in the mirror before you leave home.
Tip: If you are overweight, wear solid color clothing with a print or patterned scarf around your neck. This will draw attention away from your body and to your face, hair cut and earrings. |
