Shoes for Comfort

By Yolanda R. Wright

Flats and the New Rain Boot

Flats are a coveted classic tweaked and revisited season after season. Flats come sophisticated, vintage, retro, and not to mention offer us ladies a comfort zone that is chic and sassy. A good constructed flat will offer you not only comfort and stability and should never feel as though you are wearing a house slipper. A modest ½ to 1 inch kitten heel shoe or even a 1inch wedge heel shoe raises the bar on flats from low to somewhat mid heel. Either way if you’re the gal who has to get around town swiftly and without concern, flats should be a wardrobe essential.

Miss Pristine:
A simple little ballerina flat, a pointy toe flat with a bow, or a retro peep toe with a slight wedge is oh so lady like. A shiny patent, a bright hue, or a rich dignified dark color sings the phrase Oh la la for Miss Pristine.

Texture Funk:
Leopard print flats, snake skin and even velvet. Look for flats with some funky charisma and add some texture to your shoe world.

The Sneaker:

A clean white Converse is perfectly cool. How about changing it up a little and make it purple, black, pink or even sequins just for kicks. Chucks are still a neat little shoe that transcends style and comfort pairs, great with wide legged pants or skinny jeans for a fun day on the town.

Class Act:
We’d like to welcome back the dignified Oxford and ladies loafers this season. Still classics but this season a tassel with a slight wedge keeps you ahead of the class.

Not to Mention All Weather Proof:

We can’t forget the weather proof rain boot. Hunter Rain boots are the hippest around. Not only are they water proof. These boots are for fun, sport, substance, and not  to mention style. They come in an array of styles from clogs to full length flat boots. And don’t forget to get the socks and cuffs in an array of colors and patterns for an added accent. But this season’s favorite is the Lapins- not only a convenient way to avoid getting your feet wet, this boot laces all the way up, comes in great fall colors like Olive Green, and has a non-conventional  3 ½ inch rubber heel!
