Politically Correct Diamonds “Lab Diamonds”

No human rights abuses or enforcing tough environmental laws with lab-made diamonds.

Now the environment in which a diamond naturally grows can be recreated above ground in a laboratory.  The results are gem quality stones the same as natural diamonds. These diamonds are being graded by the GIA (Gemological Institute of America) like natural diamonds using the 3 "C's : color, clarity and cut.

Will the FTC allow these diamonds to be called "cultured diamonds"? Naturally, at stake is the diamond producer business and they don't want the term "cultured" applied.

When pearls were produced by inserting a small seed into a mollusk and grown like natural pearls the term "cultured pearls" was allowed.

How do lab diamonds differ differ from cubic zirconia?
They are chemically different.
