It’s In The Bag!
|
Bill Cunningham, NYTimes writer, calls the handbag "the engine carrying the fashion world." And he is right if you consider what women are paying for a handbag these days. Handbags continue to get larger, heavier, and more expensive. The result is that women put more things in large handbags. Many of today's women are dragging around 2-5 lb bags.
Besides being fashionable carrying these large handbags can result in back and shoulder pain plus other injuries. However this does not seem to deter the fashionistas and/or fashion victims. Popular bags on New York streets this summer, according to Mr. Cunningham, are Louis Vuitton's hand painted handbags by Richard Prince that were introduced in February at the Guggenheim Museum, during Prince's exhibition of paintings and photographs.
Other winners are the Louis Vuitton basket woven bag and the Gucci handbags with tassles which start at $1700, a structured Balanciaga bag with brasswork and reptile bags with color. Check out Bill Cunningham’s Articles |
