Holiday Style Tips that Stretch Your Dollars

Do we need to buy something new for holiday parties this year? Since most of us are trying to make our dollars go further this year we can probably re-cycle some of our last year's party clothes. If you are like me you can't remember what most people wore to holiday parties last year anyway.

Go through your drawers and closet and find things made with dressy fabrics like velvet, silk, metallic or a beaded sweater/top.

Can you pair any of the below with a skirt, pants, or top that you haven't worn together previously?

Accessorize. You can add some excitement with a piece of statement jewelry, a festive handbag, shoes or a belt if it will flatter your waist.

Mix things up. Try putting fabrics with varying textures, small patterns and/ or colors together.

Try a new style - if you wear pants most of the time try a skirt or your little black dress.

Color -   if you purchased something in one of this Fall's trendy colors like brown, green, burgundy, plum, try combining them with something from last year.

Make-up - change the color of your lipstick or wear a little eye make-up or have your make-up done at your favorite cosmetic counter.

If you think you need to buy something new go to a Vintage Clothing store and look for something different.
