    The hot colors for 2011 fall are rust colors, earthy colors, mauves (wine) and  grays.  
    Leather in every color for jackets, vests, skirts, and dresses along with fur trim on collars, gloves, sleeves, shoes, and skirts are strong. Hemlines are mostly knee length or below.

     

     

  • 2011 Spring & Summer Fashion Trends

    Lifestyle is dictating fashions today. Women are looking for wearable, relaxed, easy and affordable clothing over more formal pieces. Many are mixing inexpensive with expensive creating their own individual style. This spring the strongest trends are brilliant color, femininity, and tailored and clean Lines. At the 2011 spring / summer runway shows in NYC, Paris, & Milan there were longer skirts, wide leg trousers, blazers, thin fabrics, and trims on the runways and a lot of skin showing.

  • The Great Cover Up -  A Maxi Coat

    Women’s overcoats are reaching new Lows. They are sweeping ankles and floors and providing drama to one’s winter wardrobe. These great coats are not only a top trend but the perfect cover up for midi length dresses and skirts and long maxi dresses and pants. There are a variety of longer length coats in stores, some hitting between knees and ankles, some are ankle lengths and some numbers graze the floors.

  • New York Fall Fashion

     

    New York ladies love fashion and they wear what they want to. Street fashion photos taken around New York show that the scarf is big and adds style to everything. Boots are very strong, all heights and oversized handbags are must haves. New York women have a love affair with pants, tights, and leggings. The way women dress demonstrates a serendipity and individuality being expressed. A few dress and skirts were evident, but pants are stronger. Casual, casual, casual is Big!

    Street fashion photos from a recent trip to Turkey at the beginning of September. Turkish women dress primarily in Western clothing, but you still see many women wearing headscarfs and light cover-all topcoats. In rural areas the traditional peasant clothing is still very popular.

    These New York ladies had to put up with a lot of heat this August. However they are keeping their cool in summer fashions like, shorts, short cotton dresses,  and maxi's. Stripes are very strong. Women are wearing strappy sandals and flip flops all over town. These pictures were taken on Fifth Avenue, Madison Avenue and around Columbus Circle and Lincoln Center.     The Ferry Plaza Farmers Market, San Francisco, is one of the top farmers markets in the country. It is known for the quality and varities of its fresh farm products, plus artisan and prepared foods. Over 20,000 visitors shop for fruits, vegetables, meats, eggs, breads, cheeses and jams every week. It's the place to be seen on Saturday mornings. Besides cooking classes and panel discussions to learn more about food you can see the local San Franciscan fashionistsa's shopping for their certified organic foods and flowers to brighten things up at home.
