Fall & Winter Fashion Trends

  • Hot Fashion Trends For Fall

Every new season is an opportunity to see what designers think we should have in our wardrobes. This fall is no different. However, designers no longer have the power to dictate fashion that they once had. Today the stylish woman decides pretty much what she wants to wear influenced by trends from runway shows.
  • Fall Footwear Trends

Fall shoes are full of great new trends and classic inspirations.  There’s a variety of shoe styles to choose from so juxtapose your shoe choice with your mood. Feeling sexy? Try stiletto peep toe booties. Feeling relaxed -Audrey Hepburn inspired flats in black are always chic and classic. Feeling rugged yet feminine how about a neat pair of outdoorsy canvas booties. Are you witchy today? Why not a pair of lace up stiletto booties to fly off in-just for fun! Reminiscing on those college days? Try a pair of classic loafers.
  • The “New” Fall Heel Height

The last few years shoes have been the ultimate accessory. Shoe styles with heels as high as 7" were seen in shoe stores around the world. Not too many women can walk in heels that high. Even fashion runway models had trouble walking in these shoes. In fact it was big news this year when a model fell on a runway.
  • A Separate Piece:  The U.S. Fashion Front

As the Fall 2010 fashion week frenzy comes to a close, weary, travel-worn buyers and editors, alike, from the four corners of the globe return to their respective cities to begin dissecting the month’s sartorial offerings.  Discerning trends from points of view as varied and vast as the number of designers working today’s fashion scene, can be a sizeable task.
  • The Red Dress

Red Christmas dresses in the windows of Saks Fifth Avenue, New York December 2009. These red dresses/party dresses flatter most. They give you height and are slimming at the same time.
  • New York Fashion, Winter Coats

The dropping temperatures are bringing coats, coats and more coats to the streets of New York City. Every type of women's coat is evident. The fur coat is still a very popular winter fashion item. Furs are
great cold weather clothing since they keep you toasty warm on days when the temperature barely reaches 25 degrees.

  • “Getting The Bootie!”

Booties/ankle boots are quite main stream fashion now after being worn by the fashionistas for the last 3 or 4 years. Are they right for your wardrobe? The answer is maybe as they are difficult to wear. However, if they are flattering on you and look good with what you are wearing, go for it. They’ll work well with this fall’s leggings and minis and with long skirts that cover the top of the bootie/ankle boot. (If any leg shows with a long skirt, you should wear opaque hose or tights with your booties.)
  • Add A Classic Look With Tweed

Whenever I hear the word or see tweed fabrics, I automatically think of the traditional English country gentlemen or the British upper class out in the field all dressed in Purdey (English Finery).
