Hot Fashion Trends For Fall

Looking at Fall Fashions

Every new season is an opportunity to see what designers think we should have in our wardrobes. This fall is no different. However, designers no longer have the power to dictate fashion that they once had. Today the stylish woman decides pretty much what she wants to wear influenced by trends from runway shows.

      Velvet             Glitter             Layered Looks

Feathers, ruffles, fringe, sparkle and elegance are major trends for this fall. Designers showed "looks" such as relaxed /casual, refined, sensual, unconventional and futuristic. There was a lot of layering, plus textures, gilding/shine, colorful leathers, animal prints (leopard is the new neutral for fall), checks and fur at the shows.

Military looks, strong shapes like dramatic shoulders, puffed sleeves, curves and big busts are hot fashion trends for fall. Tailoring and quality fabrics (cashmere & stretch wools) are also important.

In marketing yourself to a boss who know little or nothing about how to do your job and is worried about how you do your job, you have two tasks. First you need to address lack of knowledge and the second task is installing trust / build up confidence Both are related and if you are an effective teacher, you will accomplish trust building.

Fall fashion colors are mustard, bordeaux, charcoal, black, purple, camel, tobacco, platoon, forest, and loden greens. Neutrals continue to be hot.

Pant styles are all over the place from cropped, tapered, pleated, track pants, shorts (usually low-slug and relaxed) and wrap-front trousers.

The dress is becoming more important. There are a number of styles arriving at retail. Tunic and shift style dresses are strong.  The skirt styles on world runways were swingy, tierd, belled, bubble and some kilts.

The jacket styles that are hot for fall are peplumed, tweed, little shearling and fur toppers, aviator jackets, trenches, frock coats, coats with hoods and capes.

Soft and chunky sweaters, blouses with draped bow details, sleek shirts, and sweatshirt-style tops are big fashion trends.
