Fall and Winter Fashion Trends

This season we have it all. Fall fashions are strong, sexy, glamorous, smart, fanciful, romantic, pretty, graphic, minimal and linear. There seems to be more of a focus on covered-up clothes. Styles are tailored. Shapes that are smaller at the top and wide at the bottom are popular. More dresses and skirts are evident and the midcalf length is popular.
Clothing was made from futuristic materials (latex & patent leather dresses), as well as traditional Fall fabrics like leather, cashmere, wool felt, tweeds, silk, lace and thick wool crepes.
Pants come in numerous styles. The choices are limitless, narrow cargo pants, biker shorts, jodhpur-inspired pants (wear with blazers) pegged-leg trousers (wear with turtleneck), pantaloons, and ultratight fitting trousers. Choose full skirts, skirts with pleats, rounded shaped and/or straight skirts. Wear straight midcalf-length skirts with boots or dark stockings.
Dresses are more important than in past seasons. There are a number of different styles to select from this season; jumper dresses, dresses with belted vests, printed silk dresses, tailored dresses, empire dresses, slip dresses (wear with granny cardigans), tunic dresses, and sack dresses.
Platform shoes and boots from high platforms to low riders are strong this Fall. The color purple is very big, but basic black is the color you can't go wrong with. Look for strappy styles, and shoes in exotic materials to continue into Spring /Summer.

Choclate
Some of the colors that appeared on runways for Fall were chocolate, burgundy, khaki, green, cobalt blue, black, ivory, navy, pastel blues, spice colors, sunshine-yellow, gray-blues, pink, spruce and taupe.
Fur Jacket
Tailored jackets , motorcycle jackets, fur jackets, broad-shouldered or peaked shouldered jackets and rounded shape jackets are big.
Tailored CoatFall runway shows showed cutaway coats, tailored coats, cocoon-shaped, A-line wool, patent leather, and fur coats w/ opera length sleeves. Also shown were double-breasted or single breasted coats and some coats with slightly raised waists.
