Valentino the Fashion Designer 5 Decades of Creations
The Valentino Garavani Virtual Fashion Museum is a downloadable digital experience. Witness the catwalk and more. Pictures stream across your laptop computer in a three-dimensional app organized according to theme. Fashionistas will be thrilled that they can look into a monitor and see an outstanding five decades of Valentino creations. Visit 5000 images, famous people (Jackie Kennedy Onassis and Sophia) wearing iconic dresses, view 95 fashion shows that took place in Paris,London, Milan or New York and Valentino's original sketches. -
Hats Off to Mother Nature
"Hats Off to Mother Nature" had more than 75 floral exhibits and garden vignettes in the House and Gardens of Filoli, including nine beautiful table settings from Bay Area Floral designers. Visitors also enjoyed the children’s, the miniature’s, the bonsai and the horticulture exhibits. The gardens of Filoli offer visitors the chance to learn about the estate's renowned horticulture practices.

Maria Callas Visits the Italian Cultural Institute
The Italian Cultural Institute has been a neighbor to The Barbary Coast neighborhood in San Francisco for many years. A place to learn Italian, view Italian movies and artwork, and attend other cultural events that are Italian related. Recently they moved to a new location: 814 Montgomery Street (at Gold Street). -
Two Fashion Exhibitions

"..... It will explore developing perceptions of the modern American woman from 1890 to 1940 and how they have affected the way American women are seen today. Focusing on archetypes of American femininity through dress, the exhibition will reveal how the American woman initiated style revolutions that mirrored her social, political, and sexual emancipation. "Gibson Girls," "Bohemians," and "Screen Sirens," among others, helped lay the foundation for today's American woman." -
Grace Kelly (1929-1982)
Style, beauty and good taste are qualities most women would be happy to achieve. These qualities were attributed to Grace Kelly by her contemporaries and fans. Just about every girl wants to be a movie star at some point. As we age we aspire to look good and demonstrate good taste. Few women can have it all like Princess Grace. -
Discarded to Design 2010
Since 2005 Sally Rosen, at the St. Vincent de Paul Society, has challenged designers and students at the Academy of Art University, Art Institute of San Francisco, and City College of San Francisco, etc. to design clothing from donations received at the Society. Besides re-inventing clothing by creating fabulous one-of-a-kind, art to wear designs this event has become an annual fund raiser for the St. Vincent de Paul Society. -
