Celebrate Performance Success
Even though many people are out-of-work or underemployed, we should not give up the idea of celebrating. So when is it appropriate to celebrate success? The best time to celebrate a significant accomplishment is instantly. Don’t wait or put off or find an excuse to delay a celebration that has been justly earned.
Holding a party, buying a gift or sharing a moment of triumph for a job well done should not be delayed as the next day can and usually does bring new challenges. Holding a celebration with your coworkers, with your soul mate or with friends rewards you for your hard work and success. Both of these mean much more when we look back on an event that was tied to a favorable outcome.
Celebrations that are spontaneous and are a reaction to a business or personal success, reinforce the advantage of achieving the success to both those who caused the success and those who were invited to share in the celebration of the success. Taking time to plan an elaborate celebration runs the danger of having events occur that might mar the atmosphere and distract from the enjoyment. Thus the admonition is to celebrate instantly (the same day or within 24 hours).
