How to Get an Important Proposal Approved Effective Presentation Skills
Last month we talked about the requirement of the pre-presentation step-by-step preparations that focused on the process of developing your important proposal. Written and verbal presentations usually follow the same flow with written having more details and exhibits.

Here’s a listing of suggestions for raising the odds for approval of your recommendations:
1. Pick a title that describes the area of focus but doesn’t reveal the recommendation. Titles should be intriguing but not too cute.
2. For written reports provide an Executive Summary but do not use it in a verbal presentation.
3. Start the presentations with a summary of the key background activity, followed by the objective that the presentation is designed to achieve, followed by recommendation(s), next the rationale for the recommendation(s), followed by a list of major steps to carry out the recommendation, timeline for these activities and the cost estimate and payback timetable.
4. For verbal presentations, be sure that visuals are clear, related to the point you are making and has no more than 20 to 25 words.
5. To aid communication, use visuals whenever you can as they tend to be understood and remembered more than text or verbal deliveries.
6. In verbal presentations be sure to summarize the key points before concluding. If you can incorporate the suggested outlined above, you will be well on your way to obtaining your hoped for outcome.
