5 Style Trends for Spring / Summer

This spring 2014 designers are taking into consideration the strong and independent woman. Fashion is about women wearing what they want and there is something for every woman in the spring 2014 fashion collections. Exaggerations are the norm: hemlines are high or low, trousers are tight or wide and shoes have sky high heels or are with flat soles.  There are many very feminine, easy and wearable clothing styles to choose from.

Some of the top trends emerging this spring are:

1 Sporty cool: Shorts are big, bikini tops, and athletic wear :running shorts, cargo pants, sweatshirt tops, sweatpants and baseball caps. Watch for these styles in luxe fabrics too.

2 See through clothing: Edgy sheer dresses, tops, skirts and pants will update your look.

3 Pleated skirts are very popular classics if you want to add weight to your body but hard to wear if you are not skinny.

4 Footwear and handbags:  Rubberized, bejeweled sandals and lots of flats on the spring runways. Handbags are large and backpacks shown in candy color hues to keep the techie gadgets  in that are being carried around.

5  Accessories: legwear covered in jewels, lace and embroidery is a charming fashion trend.

Other current trends are biker jackets you can dress up with pearls, a white shirt, black pants, jeans or an evening gown. White shirts with detailing like pleats, cropped fronts,  bibs, collars, darts and multiple layers are strong. Flowers & tropicana: blooms on graphic prints or appliqued in 3 dimensions on fashions are popular in spring and summer lines. Pink/purple & pastels are other summer favorites but neutrals,  bold colors and black & white are classic summer colors and fabrics with shine are big.
