A New Year's party can be casual or dressy. Try to find out from the hostess what the dress code is. A New Year's Eve party is usually more dressy than a New Year's day party. If it is a dressy evening party wear cocktail attire or a floor length dress. If it is a daytime party or casual evening party wear pants or a skirt with a festive top.
