What to Wear When You Meet an Online Date???

I am going to my husband's formal work party and need some advice. I am 37 years old and a size 16. I have a little black dress with silver beading/stitching on the bottom. I have plain black wedges to wear with it. Should I wear nude hose or sheer black hose?

Stockings are definitely in order for a formal work party. Sheer black hosiery would be stylish with a black dress and plain black wedge style shoes.
