I am going to a white tie affair April 10. I know that it is a very formal affair and that it will be Spring at that time. I live in Wash. DC and it is for a Fashionable Ball. I am not sure what color would be best and does it have to be a long gown?

A white tie affair is very formal and you should wear a long gown. You will never go wrong with a beautiful black dress. However since it is in April a lovely spring color is also appropriate. When choosing your dress for this event be sure it flatters your figure type and coloring.
