Can one wear velvet in May for an evening 50th wedding anniversary party?

       

You can wear velvet all year long. A velvet jacket is a great cover up all year long on cool days or evenings. Velvet dresses, pants, or a velvet skirt with a dressy top would be fine in May. However if it is extremely hot a heavy velvet dress would probably not be the best choice.
