I have a formal occasion in early June. I will be wearing a formal little black dress. While my legs are in good shape, the skin is not. Is it completely out of fashion to wear very sheer black hosiery?

It is perfectly alright to wear shear black hosiery with your LBD to a formal occasion (especially if the skin on your legs is not good). Black sling back shoes with closed toes will look dressy with your outfit. However if you want to be more trendy/more daring try a darker black sheer stocking with black peep toe style shoes. Check out any outfit you plan to wear ahead of time to be sure you like how it looks on you so that you feel comfortable.
