All black is very somber for a job interview. From your description your dress sounds a little bit too jazzy for a law firm interview. Something tailored like a skirt or pants and classic shirt/blouse with a cardigan sweater or jacket will be more appropriate. Add some nice earrings and a scarf for some style and color.
