I'm a 4"9 tall, slim, 40 year old mother. Am I too old to wear "jeanie" pants (tapered at the ankle and pretty loose) made of a linen fabric in khaki color?

"Jeanie" (harem) style pants usually are made from a soft, drapy (sp?) fabric. Linen is usually a little stiff. Because of your height  (4"9" tall) straight leg or tapered pants are probably best for you. A  40 year old is not too old to wear this style. However usually harem pants look best on tall slender women. Sometimes you have to try clothing on and do a mirror test to see how it looks on you. If it flatters you, go for it.
