Many young women don't wear neutral color pantyhose/stockings/ hosiery anymore. But ultra sheer, neutral/beige stockings are always in style with closed toe pumps or closed toe slingback style shoes. Ultra, ultra, ultra sheer neutral pantyhose, if not detectable, looks OK with sandals. However you don't want to have a web footed look so be sure they cannot be detected. Stockings give one a more polished look and are definitely appropriate for dressy occasions and job interviews. The style icon, the former Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, her sister and celebrities like Sarah Jessica Parker are wearing sheer neutral stockings so they are not out of style.
