Help! I have a "Denim and Jewel" Party to go to and do not have a clue what to wear!! Of course I want to look as stunning as possible! Any advice would be
great!
     
A "Denim and Jewel" themed party sounds like a lot of fun. Wear "casual chic" clothes. Something that looks cool on you in denim with statement jewels (fabulous fakes will work). This season there are a number of great styles in denim to choose from.
You did not specify your age but if you want to look great choose a style of jeans, skirt or dress that flatters your figure type and is appropriate for your age and add bling. For example a great fitting pair of jeans with sequined tank top or white shirt and a velvet boy friend blazer would be casual but chic. Add huge diamond like earrings and wear lots of fake diamond rings. Another idea would be a short jean skirt with a velvet top, leggings and flats. A jean shirt can be cute with a satin skirt or skinny pants with lots of bling around the neck, etc. You can also combine denim with something in metallic. You can top off the clothes with a pair of trendy shoes.
Don't wear head-to-toe denim, it's tacky!
Are long skirts still in style? My legs are not pretty and I don't look good in short skirts or even knee length skirts. Are black slacks ok to wear to dress up party?
   
Long skirts are "in style" if they flatter you. Also, every type of pants are "in." Black slacks/pants are great for a party. Looking good means accentuating the positive. If you do not have good legs don't show them.
If you are short wear slacks/pants and a matching color top. You can always dress up an outfit with some nice jewelry or wear a dressy top for a party outfit. Add a pair of heels for height.
If you are tall and slim wear pants with a different color top and low heel shoes.
I'm going to NYC at the end of April with a group of girls for a bachlorette party. I would like to wear something they will all envy...looking for something sexy but not too over the top. Any suggestions??
You have a number of options. Dark jeans with a sensuous (silk,satin, velvet, lace, sequin or metallic) top and peep-toe heels or a funky top with chunky heels. You can choose a top with some rinestone or sparkly detail around the neckline or wear a statement necklace.

A black cocktail dress (fitted if you have a good figure.) Add a brightly colored belt for pop if you are tall.

A short dress, skirt or shorts with dark tights and either boots or chunky heels are very "in" right now.

Our company Xmas party is in January and I plan on wearing a black dress that is sleeveless with sequins around the neck. I bought it at Express and they had it on display with black tights so I bought the tights too. My question is what kind of shoes should I wear? I am about 5"8 and not sure about wearing heels or what color. Thank you VERY MUCH for your help!
 
Black shoes would be your best choice. Dressy black flats (patent leather, suede, etc.) or low heeled black (black peep toe or pump style) shoes would work with your black dress. A colored or metallic shoe will just call attention to your feet.
Since your dress has trim around the neck wear some statement earrings and call attention to your face area.
I am planning to go to a birthday party and planning to get dressed up. I want to wear a black pencil skirt, and find super sexy cool heels... but I'm at a loss as to what type of top and what color (I'm really thinking of doing my accessories in a fun color like red, or bright purple) to wear. I'm not a small girl, about a size 16 with a large chest. What type of top should I wear, and how should I wear it to look sexy, without looking trampy?
 A black pencil skirt, and sexy heels sound great. As far as a top goes you probably look good in V and square neck tops or wrap styles. Choose a top with the neckline most flattering on you. Try to find it (a top) in a sensuous fabric like velvet, satin, etc. or a metallic fabric. This will be sexy and not trampy as long as it is not too tight or too low. Black shoes will look great with the black skirt. If you choose a black velvet top carry a colored (red or purple) bag and pashmina. If you choose to wear a metallic top you can carry a matching metallic handbag. An elegant option is to wear a colored top (eg.red satin), black pencil skirt and sexy black shoes and carry a black beaded or sequin handbag.
I'm going to a casual Christmas party. I'm wearing black jeans, black boots and a gold sparkle cowl sweater. Should I add jewelry or a scarf or something else to pep it up a little?
 Since you are wearing a gold sparkle sweater you will look pretty festive. However you can wear some holiday earrings to pep it up or try earrings and a choker style necklace. Also, try pearls. Look in the mirror, experiment with some different combinations and see what looks the best. Remember “less is more.”
