I will be joining a company who will issue uniforms to their employee's very soon. I want to ask your opinion as I still want to be in a good fashion when wearing the company uniform. The uniform has a beige full sleeve shirt with a red/maroon scarf paired with chocolate brown slacks. My husband(58) has won the distiinguished Johnson (johnson and Johnson, Inc) Gold Medal for Scientific Excellence for 2010. IT is an academic prize with a cash attachment. This will be presented at a dinner award ceremony in New Brunswick, New Jersey in Mid November. He is somewhat of a non-participant when it comes to fashion, but I feel this is an honor and he should wear a black or dark suit and tie, not a tux. (it is not black tie) But as his spouse, what should I wear. I have a second job interview for a state job lawyer-like (but not actually an attorney position) this Friday. My suit options are a dark blue skirt and jacket that I feel make me look like an airline stewardess (and the blouse I feel is too poofy and loose) OR a nice brown pair of pants and jacket with a quietly embroidered brown vest. Hi - I just turned the big 40 and do Interior Design as well as an owner in a Custom Wood Working facility catering to "high end" clients.
