Fashion Do’s and Don’ts

Fashion Do’s

Do: Accentuate the positive. Don’t call attention to your weak points.

Do: Start with a high-waisted firm control shaping brief; choose panties that have a flat seam.

Do: Wear a nude or flesh tone-colored bra under a white shirt.

Do: Scale the prints to your size and you're "good to go." Large prints will call attention to you and your size.

Do: with large busts wear a dress that is streamlined and doesn't exaggerate the bust. But don't completely cover your chest. Instead, big-busted ladies should wear scoop necklines.

Do: wear horizontal stripes if you have narrow shoulders, small breasts, or slender hips, wearing horizontal stripes will visually widen those areas.

Do: wear horizontals on the smaller body part if you want to offset a large chest or large hips to look a little more curvaceous.

Do: wear a mini skirt with tights.

Do: wear a pleated or slightly flared skirt for a feminine look.  Wear skirts with pleats stating below the hips; pleats from the waist make you look heavier.

Do: Wear dark walking shoes with dark pants when going to your work space.

Fashion Don’ts

Don't: wear a mini-skirt unless you are tennis player or ice skater unless you wear opaque tights underneath.

Don't: wear tops showing cleavage to the office; it looks unprofessional.

Don't: wear bold print suits.

Don't: wear tops that show your middle.

Don't: mix full skirts with bulky sweaters. A bulky sweater with a full skirt will add at least 10 pounds.

Don't: wear tight clothing.

Don't: wear Lycra camisoles that will end up above your belly-button.

Don't: wear horizontal stripes if you have large breasts, waist, or hips, wearing horizontal lines on those parts will make them appear larger. Try solids or vertical stripes instead to de-emphasize.

Don't: wear flip flops to the city or any function. They belong at the beach or for very, very casual occasions when it is hot.

Don't: wear tennis shoes with office attire. Find a pair of walking shoes that are dark to wear with dark clothes and a pair of beige shoes to wear with lighter color suits, etc. Then change into your heels when you arrive at work.
