Make-Up Tips and Guidelines

Your make up foundation should match your skin tone. Try a small amount of a yellow based foundation and a small amount of pink based foundation to see which stays neutral.  Go with the neutral one. If you prefer a smooth even finish, you should use a foundation brush (a brush for foundation application).

There are hundreds of new upper end perfumes introduced in the US every year. Not to mention hundreds are introduced in other countries each year also. No wonder it is confusing to find a scent that you like. With so many cologne and perfumes to choose from one can easily be overwhelmed.

A good look in the mirror at your shape will tell you if you need to change your diet for a healthier you. If you are overweight, make a plan to lose some of those extra pounds. A few less calories and a good walk everyday will help you look and feel better. Rate the progress of your diet every month. If you have gotten away from your routine of fewer calories and exercise to lose pounds, start over. Rome wasn’t built in one day!

When it comes to a key fashion season be it fall or spring, one of my favorite places to look for inspiration in updating my own look is the catwalk. With the new fall season now almost upon us, I find New York with it’s cooling temperatures and Broadway buzzing with new shows the quintessential place to get lost in the world of fantasy that we call fashion.

Bridal makeup is one of the most important makeup applications in your lifetime. Make up trends come and go like fashion trends. Brides should stay away from trendy colors and go classic when it comes to their big day. Brides from the 80's would have appreciated that advice when they chose blue eyeshadow, heavy blush, and red lipstick, let's not even go to the hair!

The latest trends in make up are metallics and cream eyeshadows, making matte powder eyeshadows passe'. Glittery / metallic eyeshadow is perfect for all women and will add some excitement to a holiday look without breaking the budget. These new offerings are silky smooth and the glitter shadows blend almost seamlessly with your skin.

Once again the holidays are almost upon us and with them come many social engagements that give us an opportunity to sparkle. With so many make up styles to choose from, I am always drawn to a handful of holiday looks that help inspire a festive spirit.

Eyebrows are the frames of our eyes, and there are so many ways we express our style by how we groom them. Throughout the decades women have worn their brows in looks from pencil thin to completely natural, and it can be seen as a reflection of where the fashion was at the time as well.

“Flawless” isn’t the word this season to describe makeup. Try words  like "messy", "natural" and "deconstructed". This summer's hot make up look is the natural look. This means eye shadows with creases, visible lines in lipstick, hair that is flowing and light makeup.
