Skin Care Basics
|
Beauty begins with skin that has a glow. Keeping your skin clean, wearing a moisturizer that contains sunscreen daily, eating healthy foods, exercise, drinking lots of water and getting a good nights sleep are all things that help your skin to look good. See a dermatologist at least once a year for a skin check up and to find out what new skin care products and procedures will help you. He or she can prescribe products such as Renova, a potent wrinkle product approved by the FDA.
Tips For Preventing Skin CancerUse a broad-spectrum sunscreen that protects against both UVA/UVB rays with a SPF of at least 15. Use a fresh bottle of sunscreen - don't use last year's bottle. Make sure you use enough sunscreen -- at least one ounce, and apply before you leave the house. Reapply every two hours. Wear sun smart clothing, including a hat with good coverage. You can also buy fabric softener with sunscreen that will provide sun protection to your clothing. Keep a close watch on moles that appear on the surface of your skin. |
