Why Not Go Green?
As we step into a fresh new year, many salon clients are focused on making wiser and healthier choices and their beauty regimen is a top priority. When considering the plethora of products that are applied to our hair and bodies daily it makes good sense to be aware of key ingredients contained in them. With such an abundance of options to choose from, narrowing it down to a handful of products can seem to be a daunting task, but here are some suggestions to make things a bit easier.
A wonderful hair care line from Prive called Concept Vert is a sulfite and paraben free product line of shampoos and conditioners that is dispensed in a concentrated foam to provide more uses than traditional products. Plus, the packaging can be returned to the company for recycling to leave less of an eco / carbon footprint.
On the topic of skin care, there several companies competing to satisfy the public’s demand for green products. One of these is a Bay Area company called Juice Beauty, which is organic and paraben free. Boscia, Skyn and REN to name a few, are also green skin care lines and all of these can be found at Sephora.

Finally, the world of haircolor is beginning to take notice of client’s demands for something less toxic. I am pleased to announce that L'Oreal Professionnal has created a color line called INOA which is ammonia free, provides 100% grey coverage and uses a breakthrough ODS (oil delivery system) to maximize the pigment’s brilliance while retaining the hair’s natural supple texture.
Here’s to a heathier, more beautiful and prosperous year for us all! Happy New year!
